The WorkTech Mailer is a free utility that allows you to send email notifications from your Maximo system. Among its many uses, the WorkTech Mailer has the ability to:

• Inform workers when work orders are assigned to them.
• Send critical notifications when purchased items are received.
• Notify supervisors when emergency work orders are created.

The mailer generates messages that can be formatted in simple text for a cell phone or pager, or it can produce rich HTML text to send to PCs. Messages can include Maximo data elements to ensure accuracy or to add important detail.

The WorkTech Mailer monitors and processes email messages as they are generated. It integrates with your Maximo and database security policies so that you can send the messages required and prevent unauthorized use.

The WorkTech Mailer integrates with your Maximo server as a standard Java extension. Built according to Maximo development guidelines, it is easy to install, configure, and use. It requires no other tools or utilities to operate, although you can integrate it with other procedural or customization tools such as SQR, Actuate, or the QuickPick Customization Toolkit. With QuickPick, you can use the WorkTech Mailer to initiate emails from several Maximo events without needing to create any external mechanisms. The WorkTech Mailer integrates directly with Maximo and your organization's SMTP email server, requiring minimal administration. With only a single database table involved, no significant performance overhead is added to your system.
