Somerville, MA, December 13, 2004 ? Surpassing 20,000 users, WorkTech's QuickPick for Maximo offers a new release with enhanced functionality.

QuickPick 5.5 is a customization tool for MRO Software's Maximo product. It reduces the time, effort, and training required for upgrading and also for implementing new Maximo installations. Java programming is not required to add Maximo customizations with QuickPick.

The latest release offers the following new functionality:

  1. Sequenced Validation ? All QuickPick business rules can be sequenced such that several business rules (each with its own error message) can be assigned to a single object. Validation rules can be created individually to verify specific business rules, each sequenced validation rule can have its own error message that describes the specific error condition, simplifying the creation of business rules and giving the end user more detailed information when an error is raised.

  2. Additional Business Rule Attributes - Enable/disable business rules, customize the error display, sequence rules, and add notes to the business rule definitions, all within the new QuickPick Administrator

  3. Multi-level Value Lists ? Value lists can consist of any number of lookups with the end result being the last selected value, a combination of intermediate values, or the result of a recursive drill-down through hierarchical data.

QuickPick-built value lists can display in sequence to build up a data selection, drill through associated data to determine the final value, or traverse hierarchical data such as the location and equipment hierarchies.

  4. Procedural SQL ? All QuickPick rules can incorporate SQL commands to execute inserts, updates and deletes against the database, replicating trigger functionality outside the database.

Together with all QuickPick business rules, procedural SQL can be executed on specific events such as a record save or a status change. The SQL command can perform updates, inserts, or deletes against any tables in your database to replicate trigger functionality in a platform-independent manner.

  5. New Administrator Module - Create and edit QuickPick business rules in a single user-friendly administrator application that combines the rule with associated message text in one single definition. The all-new QuickPick administrator supports easier editing, filtering and sorting as well as all of the new extended attributes of QuickPick validation rules.

  6. New Table Structures - Implement and maintain QuickPick rules in a single, simplified table that allows greater flexibility for new features and support for new attributes in existing rules.
