Duke Energy Engages Work Technology Corporation to Develop and Deliver Web-Based Training and Classroom Training Sessions

April, 2002 -- Duke Energy, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, has engaged WorkTech for training materials for their parallel rollout of the Maximo and PeopleSoft Enterprise Supply Chain System to Power Stations throughout North America. The project will serve both the Regulated Power Generation Group in the Carolinas, and the non-regulated merchant plants throughout the rest of North America.

"I'm convinced that the WorkTech folks have done a superior job and deliver a high quality product. … We have a good team of folks working in partnership with us to deliver quality training that will enable Duke employees to be successful in using PeopleSoft and Maximo. I'm very happy with that partnership."
(Gail Harwood, Duke Project Coordinator)

The CMMS Project team has prepared several training packages for use by Duke Energy and available to a broad audience for specific subject materials. These include both classroom programs as well as self-paced training in the form of general read packages and web-based training that can be accessed by Duke Intranet.

Additional Web Accessed Read Packages were developed and published on the Duke Energy Intranet to provide quick access to managers and employees who could not attend formal training classes.

The classroom courses, being offered in addition to the self-paced training, are listed below.

Introduction to Maximo, 1 day classroom course

Work Management with Maximo, 5 day classroom course

PeopleSoft Inventory, 5 day classroom course

PeopleSoft Purchasing, 5 day classroom course
