WorkTech has introduced a Data Cleansing tool for Maximo that significantly reduces the effort required for upgrades. This module, which is part of the QuickPick product, resides inside a Maximo installation. Companies implementing can see a significant reduction in the amount of effort required to perform a Maximo upgrade.
A significant part of the effort of a Maximo upgrade is getting all of the data normalized so that the upgrade can proceed. With the Data Cleansing tool for Maximo from WorkTech, companies can reduce that level of effort and potentially save tens of thousands of dollars.
Over time, naming conventions change, workflow changes, and data inconsistencies creep into the database. These changes to naming conventions are not always noticeable at first, as users typically work with a certain subset of data at one time. However, over time, the lack of consistency leads to a significant impact on quality of data that the organization is managing. And during an upgrade, when data fields need to be normalized and standardized, the process of doing so can be complicated, time consuming, and expensive.

Tom Frederick of WorkTech will be co-presenting with Mike Pytlinski of the Metropilitan Water District of Southern California at this year's Facilities Management Maximo User Group annual meeting in San Diego, California. Mike and Tom will be delivering a presentation, "Bringing Maintenance Data to the Field at the Metropolitan Water District" in the Monday afternoon session. The presentation will explore the ways that MWD access Maximo in a mobile environment, and tracks employee work to specific work orders. MWD will also discuss some of the results they enjoyed from implementing elements of the WorkTech solution as part of their "Maximo to the Field" strategy.

WorkTech provides Time and Attendance and Contractor Cost Tracking software that is Tivoli certified for its integration with Maximo. This powerful time and attendance solution helps organizations like the Metropolitan Water District to more accurately manage their labor and equipment costs by tying them to specific work orders. By bringing Maximo to the field, workers can record their activity on work orders in real time, which greatly increases the accuracy of time and expense reporting.
WorkTech also provides an integrated Maximo rules building tool, QuickPick for Maximo, which makes the creation and implementation of custom rules inside Maximo easy to execute. Custom validation rules can be created so that companies can be sure that their specific business process and workflow is executed every time. QuickPick also allows users to execute a mass update on records to help with data normalization.

WorkTech be joining its partner in security and gate control, Lenel, at the 2012 ISC-West conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 28-30. As a certified Lenel partner, WorkTech integrates its employee and contractor time and attendance software with OnGuard. This partnership gives clients a simple, yet secure solution for both gate control and time and attendance. By achieving Lenel certification in 2011, WorkTech demonstrated its commitment to keeping its products in line with Lenel requirements.
WorkTech timekeeping systems integrate with OnGuard to receive gate passes as clock transactions. When an employee or contractor passes through a gate, WorkTech receives that activity in real time and writes a labor transaction. These pre-validated transactions can be compared against the employee or contractor's schedule to help ensure that he or she is not charging labor hours too early, or is tardy. This integration also assists managers of the employees and contractors to know when they arrive at a facility compared when they start work on productive tasks. This can help companies make sure that employees get to productive tasks within a reasonable amount of time from the time that they enter the gate. It also serves as a "sanity check" for companies reviewing contractor invoices. The integration between OnGuard and WorkTech allows companies to validate the time that contractors are reporting and billing.
Come by the Lenel booth, which Booth 11087 at ISC West. For more information on passes to the show, visit http://www.iscwest.com/Register-Here/ or Contact WorkTech.

WorkTech has announced that its flagship product, WorkTech Time 5.1 has achieved "Ready for Tivoli" certification by IBM. This certification means that the integration between WorkTech and IBM Maximo® has been validated by IBM, and WorkTech Time is now included as part of the IBM Integrated Service Management Library.
WorkTech has certified its integration of its Time and Attendance software application, WorkTech Time 5.1, with IBM Maximo® version 7.5. The areas of integration that WorkTech verified include:
- WorkTech ensures that workers can only charge time against valid and open work orders in Maximo® that they are authorized to charge time against.
- WorkTech updates Maximo® with time and labor charges after time has been approved in WorkTech so that Maximo® has correct labor charges against work orders.
- WorkTech makes updating certifications and qualifications easy to do, and has fully integrated the certification management process with Maximo®.
- WorkTech has integrated its leave management module with Maximo® Assignment Manager, helping to ensure that schedulers in Maximo® do not assign workers who have approved leave to the day's work plan.
Managers can easily manage their entire work group with a touch of a button, and can easily review and approve time for entire groups of employees. Once labor has been approved, the transactions update Maximo® with the appropriate labor charges, so that cost reporting in Maximo® is correct and up to date.
In addition, WorkTech allows organizations to manage absences - both planned and unplanned - with excellent workflow. Employees can submit leave requests through the application, view their leave balances and attendance policies. Supervisors can approve/deny leave requests after having the opportunity to view their crew's staff availability. This helps ensure that too many of one qualification/craft are not granted leave for the same period. Once leave requests have been approved, the approved leave transactions are sent to Maximo® Assignment Manager. Schedulers and Planners can then use this information to assign work to available employees, reducing surprises and unnecessary overtime.
WorkTech will be demonstrating the integration between WorkTech Time 5.1 and IBM Maximo® 7.5 at this year's Pulse show in Las Vegas. Come by Booth E217 to see this integration in action.
WorkTech (Booth E217) will be unveiling new functionality for its QuickPick for Maximo® product at this year's Pulse event in Las Vegas. QuickPick is the original Maximo® Configuration Toolkit, and is integrated with all supported versions of the Enterprise Asset Management tool, including version 7.5. The new functionality allows users to perform a wider range of Mass Updates in Maximo® than ever before. Mass Update is a new, powerful and easy to use tool for updating the main records of any Application in Maximo® from within that Application:
- If an approved user needs to update some records in the WorkOrder table, he can use the Mass Update functionality in the Work Order Application to do this.
- The QuickPick Administrator can authorize Maximo® users, based on their Security Groups, to use the Mass Update tool without providing access to the QuickPick Administrator Application.
- The user can choose whether to update the attribute with a value from another attribute in the same record, or update the record with a new value
- The User can update records either by selecting them from the List tab of the application, or update records based on a particular condition.
This enhanced functionality will give users even more control over their use of the EAM solution, and will help to greatly improve their Maximo® user experience.
For a demonstration of this new functionality, visit WorkTech at Booth E217 at Pulse 2012. If you are not attending Pulse 2012 this year, and would like a personalized demonstration, Contact WorkTech today.

WorkTech announces that it has joined forces with two leaders in the field of Maximo products and services to demonstrate an integrated Scheduling, Dispatching, Timekeeping, and Mobility solution at IBM Pulse 2012. WorkTech, along with Datasplice and Solufy, will occupy booths E120, E217, and E118 to show how their products work together to deliver measurable value to Maximo implementations. Solufy's flagship product, Akwire, is an industry-leading scheduling tool that integrates with all versions of Maximo to deliver visual scheduling and load balancing. Akwire integrates with WorkTech's Leave Management system and Qualifications Engine to receive dynamically employee availability, helping to ensure that the only resources assigned to work orders are those employees who are qualified and available to work. Work orders that are scheduled are dispatched through Dataplice's mobility framework. This gives employees in the field the opportunity to receive work orders on their handheld device in real time. Being hardware-neutral, companies can deploy the Datasplice solution in virtually any IT environment. Employees can record time against the work orders that they have been assigned, or other work orders that they are able to charge time against as determined by WorkTech's QuickPick for Maximo rules engine. Labor hours that are charged through Datasplice's platform then update Maximo with the real labor costs, and concurrently update the employee's timesheet in WorkTech, ensuring that labor costs in both Maximo and the company's payroll system are in synch.
Come by Booth E120, E217, and E118 to see this solution in action.
