QuickPick™ Features and Functions

Dynamic Value Lists - By User, Group, or Any Other Criteria

Add dynamic value lists to Maximo® 5.X fields without any Java or JavaScript programming. The contents can be varied depending on other data on the screen, who the user is, a group they are a member of, or any other related attribute.

Example: On labor value lists, only show entries that are applicable to a given site or so that ex-employees are not displayed.

Validate Entered Data - As It Is Entered

Reduce errors and increase the efficiency of your Maximo system by validating data and enforcing you business rules at the point of entry. When a user enters data into a QuickPick field, the data is validated according to your business rules. A custom error message displays if the entered data does not meet your requirements.

Example: As a user enters a supervisor's labor code, ensure that the selected labor code is appropriate. If not, display an informative error message.

Multi-field Business Rules / Make Fields Mandatory - Conditionally

Create complex business rules on multiple fields that can be enforced as a record is saved. Make fields mandatory depending on other attributes or cross referenced to multiple fields with QuickPick's form level validation.

Example: Make fields mandatory depending on the type of record. Make a failure class or problem code mandatory for work orders of a given work type, but optional for other records.

Status Change Validation

Example: Enforce different business rules at different stages of a record's life cycle. With QuickPick, you can apply different requirements and criteria to a record depending on its status. You can allow users to create a record that is awaiting approval, but block status changes until it matches your business rules.

Make Fields Read Only - Dynamically

Example: Control your data by user, group, or as part of a status flow in which users can only change attributes at the appropriate stage of the process. With QuickPick, you can make fields read-only, depending on attributes of the record or read-only for certain users or groups.
